IcExcellence believes that great talent is a prerequisite, but insufficient unto itself, for excellence and success. Therefore, artists are encouraged to assume responsibility for their own vision and reality, and to take proactive steps to advance their careers- for the mutual benefit of themselves and society. As they travel this path, IcExcellence provides ongoing nurturing, financial support and guidance, through a distinctive empowerment model. This partnership may last several years.
The Model:
We believe that meaningful progress is always the result of openness, freedom of choice, and the courage to change. IcExcellence itself is designed to operate in this kind of environment and constantly navigates between two supposed opposites: the rules of the business world and the spirit of artistic creation. As such, it passes the same challenge on to its artists, by presenting them with a clear framework to follow, while simultaneously encouraging them to redefine that structure and aim for breakthroughs. It provides clear guidelines, but insists on avoiding predefined modes of operation, to sustain freshness and flexibility.
IcExcellence is a greenhouse for empowering artists: it is a protective yet challenging space that also functions as a living lab for practicing and better understanding the rules of the game in the "real world."
This empowerment model successfully harnesses the synergetic power of great talents assembled together, while enabling the creation of a tailor-made program for each and every one in the group. It includes a basket of widely assorted options and opportunities for the artists to choose from, while likewise urging them to initiate entirely new and creative ideas that suit their dreams and advance the foundation´s vision.
Due to the endless possible combinations, the cooperation between each artist and IcExcellence is unique and personalized. The nature of the model leaves room for each artist to influence and reframe the mode of this partnership and its implementation. Group Activity:
IcExcellence created a framework of several annual meetings and two seminars entitled “The Artist as Entrepreneur.” In a protective, enabling environment, artists meet outstanding colleagues from different fields of art, discuss the challenges and tasks they are facing, listen to advice and share ideas. They are exposed to subjects and concepts from experts in a multitude of disciplines, such as business, psychology, sociology, coaching, and philosophy, to broaden the artists’ overall insight and perspective. They also have the opportunity to learn and acquire experience in important tactics necessary for career advancement, such as strategic planning, presentation, marketing, branding, and more. This special space encourages learning, enrichment, networking and the germination of many wonderful cooperative artistic projects.
Individual Advancement:
Each artist and the foundation together forge a personal advancement program that is suited to the artist’s field of art, personality and professional needs, while concurrently fulfilling the foundation´s vision of cultural excellence. IcExcellence supports dozens of vastly diverse artistic and career advancement programs, both in Israel and abroad. These include higher education studies in respected universities throughout the world, meetings with international mentors, travels to various art centers – for periods ranging from a few weeks to a year, participation in international conventions, professional courses, private enrichment studies, language study, establishing websites, and much more.
In addition, experts are on hand throughout the year for general advice, or deeper processes of business consulting and personal coaching.
IcExcellence´s support does not include prizes, scholarships, or grants for specific projects, but focuses on programs that provide the artist with valuable tools. This approach elicits immediate results, while also promising to have an impact for countless years to come.
