"In successful performances, there is always a point when the ice is broken between the audience and the performer, and a sense of exhilaration overcomes everyone. The critical point here was when Din Din Aviv came up to sing "Im Telech." The thunderous applause and the audience's accompaniment throughout the song clearly illustrated who the real star of the evening was. At the end of the show Reichel called her the "First Lady," and for good reason. Hers is one of the most beautiful and powerful voices heard around here lately."

Born in Israel in 1974 to a family of musicians, Din Din Aviv has been singing and dancing since early childhood. Her charming stage presence, beautiful voice, and unique rhythmic mastery have placed her at the center of attention from local and world music lovers. She is well known as the lead singer of three recent big hits in Israel:
- "Im Telech" (If You Leave), the leading song of the successful Idan Reichel Project, which integrates Ethiopian melodies into Hebrew songs. "Im Telech" was chosen "Song of the Year" by IDF Radio and Radio 3, and listed as the No. 1 airplay of 2003.
- "Shir La'Ahava (Yahad)" with the Gaya Ensemble, which received the Discovery of the Year Award and has become an unofficial second national anthem for many Israelis.
- "Sudotai" (my secrets), Din Din's first single from her debut solo album toped the record charts of the Israeli leading radio stations.
Din Din's dance and musical education is varied. She studied dance and ballet at the Israel School of Ballet and with Dorit Gasner, and African dance with Master Aisha Diallo. For musical enrichment she traveled to India to participate in Indian song and Tabla drum workshops. She also studied African drumming with Uri Naveh and congas with Avi Zarfati, as well as two years of drum and voice lessons at the Rimon School of Music. Her popular children's video, "Din Din's Heart Drum," introduced many Israeli families to the world of rhythm.
Currently, Din Din is busy giving "Rhythm in Dance" workshops at Seminar
Hakibbutzim, and performing with different
ensembles. For the last three years she has also been presenting a special
world music program with her mother, singer Aliza Aviv, in which they both
sing in Turkish, Kurdish, Greek, Bulgarian, Georgian, Persian and Hebrew.
Din Din's first solo album, "My Secrets," was released in spring 2006, to enthusiastic public response. Following the album's great success, she was named "Discovery of the Year" by ACUM (The Composers, Authors and Publishers Society of Israel).
In April 2007, Din din received a Gold Album award for "My Secrets".

"As Din Din Aviv sang, her hair, as well as her clothing ensemble, billowing in the breeze, reflected the movement of the audience as they watched her on stage. Everyone at the Old Train Station Theater was drawn together through her performance, and even as audience members continued to arrive, the sounds of Din Din Aviv, drew them into the action even from outside the gates of the theater"
Jerusalem Foundation, July 2006
"[Dancer and choreographer] Rina Sheinfeld presented a selection from
'Daughter', performing with Din Din Aviv. Din Din is an excellent singer,
dancer, and primarily musician; and actually generates the power and drama
of dance by virtue of her drumming
and singing."
Gabi Eldor, Ha'Ir, Dec. 10, 1999
"Din Din Aviv is the vital spirit in 'Gaya', and the main factor making it
an excellent band, thanks to her wonderful voice and charismatic stage
performance."
Asaf Shaar, Ha'Ir, June 12, 1998
