Avshalom Gur, who grew up in the Negev desert city of Arad, Israel, is a graduate of the Shenkar School for Engineering and Design in Tel Aviv and received an MA with distinction at the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London. He then embarked on a number of successful freelance design consulting collaborations with leading fashion houses worldwide, such as Donna Karen in New York, Roberto Cavalli in Florence, Chloe in Paris and Nichole Farhi in London. In 2005, he turned his attention to his own London-based label, founding "Avsh Alom Gur."

Avsh Alom Gur collections are worn and admired by press, buyers and celebrity fans such as singer Tori Amos, Kelly Osbourne and Raquel Welsh, to name a few . He received Top Shop and the British Fashion Council's New Generation Award for up-and-coming designers for three seasons in a row. He has been hailed by the International Herald Tribune as one of "London's brightest talents" and was named one of the top seven emerging young fashion designers in London by Metro in April 2006. That year he also won the Young Fashion Designer Showcase award, Best Collection and Best Designer at Shanghai Fashion Week.

Avshalom regularly collaborates with up-and-coming artists with diverse fields of expertise, ranging from jewelry making, hand carving, knitting and knotting to printing, as part of his design process to ensure that his collections are always cutting-edge. He creates unique collections that challenge our definition of glamour and beauty. His designs combine Eastern and Western elements with urban street graffiti and underground grunge. As he puts it, "The designer was shaped by the wind of the desert and the colorful culture of its Bedouin tribes."
